Wet Basement Repairs

Over the years, we have spent a lot of time trying to understand how water enters basements and how to prevent them from leaking again. We have tried various methods and with years of trials and tribulations, we have taken the best out of each method and combined them into one great method we call "Our Guaranteed Method".

It is called the guaranteed method because if you carefully follow every step of the process you will never have a flooded basement again! This method is the best for waterproofing basements. This allows you to address all of your problems at once. While some contractors will solely promote repairs to be done from the inside, we strongly recommend the exterior basement waterproofing approach.

With the exterior method, because you are excavating the entire foundation wall you will be able to: repair foundation cracks, change the weeping tile, waterproof the foundation using tar, Blueskin membrane or Tremco waterproofing combined with added protection from Delta membrane. Once you have applied the correct foundation waterproofing and imported new backfill (if required) you can then adjust the entire landscaping so that water runs away from your house.

This is also a great time to repair the foundation's parging! With a new weeping tile in place, I can assure you that you will be getting a lot more water in your sump pump system so make sure your sump pump is operating properly and consider the installation of either a battery backup sump pump or a water backup sump pump in the event the main pump fails or the power goes out.

Septic Systems

This industry has long been an interest of mine. I enjoy the science behind wastewater treatment. It also fits in nicely with my wet-room philosophies in that you must understand water and its behavior to effectively get rid it.

We have a deep understanding of all types of septic systems, from the basic trench beds and filter systems to the more advanced tertiary systems like Ecoflo, Bionest and EnviroSeptic. For the most sensitive areas, we can also design phosphate removal septic system.

Understanding all these systems will not only allow us to effectively service them but it also gives us more options when designing a system to best suit your environment.

In addition to system designing, we take pride in all your other septic system needs: septic tank pumping, septic tank cleaning, septic tank filter cleaning, sewage pump and effluent pump maintenance, distribution box adjustments (if equipped) as well as complete system inspections, if you are wondering how well the system is performing.

We offer septic system installation and repairs as well as septic system design and repair. If it's a new septic tank that you need, we install both concrete septic tanks and plastic septic tanks. Although I recommend concrete tanks, sometimes you need a plastic tank. When that happens, we use the toughest tanks in the industry, Roth!

These tanks are made by Roth Global Plastics and are my favorite. We can provide you with the drain field (also known as septic bed, or leaching field) that you require.

We follow the Ontario Building Code, and often exceed their requirements. We know what it takes for a system to last many years. This is because we have seen many systems fail over the years.
